'kv' has always struck me as a wrong'n.
Even revs/v is better but the term for angular velocity is omega (ω) thus angular velocity/volt should be ω/v.
kv is kilovolts and it is technically nonsense when it comes to describing rotational speed on motors, particular when the whole number times 1000 is used as well ie 2700kv means 2.7million volts!? It should read 2700ω/v Strictly ω is measured in radians but I guess you could choose your units as revs.
The terminology kv is across the hobby world so I don't imagine this will change soon. Maybe HobbyKing might make a splash by correcting this.
