9xr to futaba buddy

how do i make it work i can connect the futaba to the 9xr do all the calibration but get no readings on the trainer screen everything stays at zero tried the bridging of pins 3 and 6 no different 3 hours trying to figure it out doing my head in should be easy the lead works futaba to futaba but not tunigy to futaba with turnigy as master works as slave how do i set up as master
