How come I have received an invoice for a further 25 euros to get my item through customs?

This wasn't mentioned when I purchased the item and I have already paid £25 delivery fee? I don't feel that this has been explained very clearly at all and have re visited the site to see if I missed anything but there is nothing there to imply I will pay more charges.
