Here is my idea:

A universal gimbal (Quanum Nova compatible)

2 and 3 axis variants

can carry about a pound (most consumer HD camcorders like SONY HDR-CX230)

Has a 1/4" screw to mount any type of camera you'd like.

3 axis stabilization.
