kk2 board will not run servo for tricopter

I am building a tricopter and cannot get servo to work unless I run a 4th speed controler as a bec. I am using the multi star 2216 and afro speed controler combo from you. What am I missing? I have 5 volts at the power pins 6-8 as well as ground. Speed controlers are linear BEC.
