VAT charge for SCS

I think Hobbyking should either stop using SCS or at least on the website warn about VAT charge at the point of sale (not deep in the help section). The VAT charge is 40% of the value of my HK despatched order. VAT in the UK is 20%. I had already paid 20% of the base cost in delivery charges. This is certainly putting me off buying fro the international warehouse and spoilt my experience of purchasing from HobbyKing
