Dear HK: I'm getting back into RD after dropping out because of the US government's interference in a hobby that doesn't need regulation. I needed to update some stuff and do a bit of retooling and restocking. So the first thing I did was come to Hobbyking. What a surprise! It looks nice but that's about the only thing good about it. First thing I looked for was a neat little connecting rod bending tool that Josh Bixler used to build an inexpensive pan and tilt mechanism. So I tried to search for it. You apparently have no wire bending tools at all. I find that a bit strange for a hobby shop whether online or brick and mortar. I struggled through a search of a seaplane to replace my beloved Coota that I bought here several years ago. Unfortunately, I found you have to sort through all of your airplanes because you apparently no longer can sort airplanes into categories like on the old website. Even so after struggling for over an hour I had added half a dozen items to my cart assuming that all were available from the US warehouse because there was no notation that any were only available from the Global warehouse in Hong Kong. So I went to the upper right hand corner to click on my cart. My, m,...it wasn't there. So I searched through the subject icons multiple times then I went through several help topics with no help available. Obviously, am not, by now, a happy customer and I felt the need to let you know. I certainly didn't want to chew out your chat rep...just wanted to write this note. I I went to the Contact Us page only I found there's no way to do that so that page is misnamed. BUT, I happened to glance down at the very bottom of the page and noticed a little orange icon with a cart on it...IT WAS MY CART!!! No thanks to HK, I could now get out of here. So, I go to my cart and find that half of my $42 order is from the Global warehouse where my shipping cost would exceed the amount of the order. So I deleted them but the other three items would be over the $25 minimum. for a US warehouse order. But Oh No!!!...even though I had read about the $25 minimum just a bit earlier, the US warehouse minimum has been increased to $100 for free shipping. That was IT!!! I cleared my cart and took another 20 minutes to mind this page. It seems others feel the same way. Now, HK customer service service had never been very good but fortunately, I've rarely needed it. After this fiasco I may never need it again. But my order was small. Had it all been available in the US warehouse, it would not have qualified for the outrageous minimum on free shipping. You only lost a small sale but it could have been much bigger if you had a seaplane or amphibian. But , frankly, I really don't think you give a damn. Corporate greed is a terrible thing.
