About Australia GST on Low Value Imported Goods (LVIG)

From 1 July 2018, GST (Goods and Services Tax) will apply to the sale of most products on HobbyKing.com which have a customs value of $1,000 AU or less that are shipped from overseas to customers in Australia (these are referred to as “low value imported goods” or LVIG).

From 1 July 2018, the Australian Government implemented legislation to impose GST on most goods sold on HobbyKing.com and imported into Australia which have a customs value of $1,000 AU or less (low value imported goods or LVIG). From this date, HobbyKing.com will calculate, collect and remit 10% GST on all LVIG sold on HobbyKing.com and shipped from overseas to customers in Australia.

The prices displayed on HobbyKing.com for LVIG are inclusive of the applicable GST. Payment through PayPal will display product prices without tax, with tax later added on before checkout completion.

GST will be applied to each product that is an LVIG product regardless of the order total. This means that even if two or more LVIG products shipped from overseas are purchased together as part of a single order that may cost more than $1,000 AU, 10% GST will be applied to each individual LVIG product. Tax will also be applied to shipping fees from international warehouses.

Should a coupon code be used in a transaction, this discount will apply to the item pre-tax, and 10% GST will be calculated once the item is discounted.

You'll be able to see your final price inclusive of applicable GST before you confirm your order.

The order details will display a GST breakdown for LVIG products for which GST is calculated, collected, and remitted by HobbyKing.com, these include LVIG products sold through HobbyKing.com (products sold and shipped by any overseas warehouse.

After you have placed your order, an invoice with the relevant order and tax details will be available in Your Orders.

If an item is refunded, the price of the item inclusive of GST will be refunded.

About New Zealand GST

As the New Zealand Government required to receive low-value goods GST starting Dec 1, 2019, Hobbyking will start receiving GST for all value products that are shipped to the NZ customers. If a customer is being charged again on the border, the customer should provide the receipt which indicates GST has been paid to Hobbyking to prevent being double taxed.
