Introduction To The Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
Introduction to the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
The HobbyKing Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) system has been
designed as a simplified and user-friendly process to assist with the following:
Warranty claims: for items that are incorrect, defective, damaged, faulty, or
missing parts
No Fuss Returns: for cases of product dissatisfaction
These updated RMA features are intended to improve customer understanding of
the return process and enable HobbyKing to address merchandise issues promptly
and efficiently, ensuring that we continue to meet our customers’ needs and
expectations.
General Warranty Policies And Guidelines
An RMA must be created for any return to be authorized. Returning items sent
back without an RMA may cause them to be refused and sent back to
customers at the customers expense.
Customers may return items to the warehouse for store credit or a
refund of the product cost if they are dissatisfied under our No Fuss
Returns policy. This must be done within 30 days from the date of
receipt, and the item must be in pristine condition
*Pristine condition refers to items being returned in their original packaging
with all accessories included and in the same condition as when shipped.
** For batteries returned under the No Fuss Return policy, the item must not
have been charged or discharged, must retain the yellow warranty tag on the
cable, and be wrapped in bubble wrap with the original safety pamphlet
included in the box.
If the original packaging has been opened, only 80% of the product price may
be refunded to cover any repackaging, quality check (QC) inspection, and
verification costs.
The HobbyKing.com warranty does not cover items that have been crashed,
damaged due to misuse, rough handling, or improper operation. This includes
damage sustained during actual use (such as while flying, driving, or
operating a product), or if the item has been modified, altered, or not properly
pre-checked before use (“pre-flight” or equivalent safety checks). Such
circumstances void the warranty.
HobbyKing.com accepts no responsibility for the improper installation and use
of purchased products. The warranty period for all types of batteries is within
182 days of purchase, and 1 year for other products such as internal parts
(ESC, motor, servo, etc.) and RC items (plane, helicopter, boat, and car).
The warranty period is effective from the date of purchase unless otherwise
stated on the product listing webpage itself.
Scratch & Dent items are sold as-is and are not covered under the
HobbyKing.com warranty and cannot be refunded.
All relevant information must be accurately provided on the RMA application
form. If a return is approved, the official HobbyKing return address will be
provided once the RMA request has been successfully lodged.
HobbyKing does not provide courier pick-up slips or return shipping labels. In
select cases, HobbyKing may offer store credit to compensate for return
shipping costs on approved warranty items. Return shipping costs for “No
Fuss Return” items are not eligible for compensation under any circumstances
Photos and/or videos are required for Initial Evaluation (submission via RMA)
for all warranty-type claims.
All battery warranty claims must include clear photos and/or videos
demonstrating the fault. Do not return any faulty batteries unless specifically
requested by HobbyKing. In certain cases, HobbyKing may require the item to
be returned for inspection before a resolution is provided.
When returning any item via RMA, a printed or handwritten copy of the RMA
form must be included inside the package or securely attached to the parcel.
The return must clearly include the customer’s full name, email address, order
number, and RMA number to ensure proper processing.
RMA items that have been approved for replacement, will have a new order
made for the replacement item and are generally made to be sent to the
shipping address of the order they were purchased on. If a customer has
changed their mailing address within the warranty period and wishes the
replacement to be sent elsewhere, they MUST stipulate this on the RMA form
notes when the RMA is created.
Returned items sent by customers may take 7–15 business days (excluding
weekends) to be inspected and processed once received at the warehouse.
After inspection, the return will proceed to Settlement status.
After an RMA form has been submitted, if no response is received from the
customer within 45 days, or if the required return parcel is not sent back to the
warehouse within that period, the RMA application will be closed and
considered void.
Replacement parts are often requested directly from the manufacturer if stock
is unavailable at the warehouse. This process may take 6–8 weeks for the
items to be shipped from the manufacturer.
If HobbyKing is unable to provide the required replacement parts or a
replacement item, and the customer is requested to return the product in full,
only then will the customer be eligible to receive store credit or a monetary
refund.
Select Products MUST be returned to us for inspection. The liability of the
product is restricted to the sale price of the product.
